About LAVA International Limited
LAVA International is a Noida-headquartered mobile handset maker founded in 2009 by Hari Om Rai, Sunil Bhalla, Shailendra Nath Rai and Vishal Sehgal, operating in more than 11 countries under the Lava and Xolo brands.
The company ranks among the top handset makers in several markets — 4th largest in India, 2nd in Thailand, 3rd in Sri Lanka and 5th in Bangladesh — and promotes itself as the only Indian brand with in-house design and PCB assembly, running two manufacturing plants and an R&D centre in Noida.
FY21 revenue topped ₹5,000 crore with profit of about ₹173 crore, and the company has narrowed its product lineup from roughly 50 models to under 15 in recent years as it focuses on a smaller, higher-margin portfolio.
